Have you always wanted to learn sign language? Think it’s a beautiful and expressive language? Wish you could communicate with Deaf people? Take this course to learn the basics. This Auslan Level 1 course will teach you essential fingerspelling, vocabulary and concepts for using Auslan. Learn about Deaf experience and issues Deaf people face.

This course is taught by Asphyxia, a Deaf artist, writer and activist. Her book series, The Grimstones, was shortlisted for the Speech Pathologist’s book of the year award, and commended by the Australian Publisher’s Association for best designed children’s series in 2013. Asphyxia sells artworks online is currently working on a novel featuring a deaf protagonist.
