This deaf awareness course aims to enlighten and ease the flow of communication that you might have with a person that is hard of hearing, both in the work place and in other social situations. Learn about the causes and reasons deafness and gain a basic understanding of the British Sign Language which is the official signing language in the UK.

The course is led by Rachel Hubbard who is an expert in deaf awareness training, she founded deaf umbrella in 2000 with the aim of supporting deaf people and providing help for people working or training in the field as Communication Support Workers (CSW).

Take this course and discover some of the major causes and types of deafness, understand communication tactics and how to work with or as a Communication Support Worker and finally gain a basic knowledge of British Sign Language!
